This project was created for my masters dissertation module at Teesside University module at Teesside University. I wanted to push myself and my UI/UX skills with an area which I feel is becoming ever more relevant to modern gaming, that being remaking and modernising older games for a new audience. For this I decided to take the UI of a beloved classic title, System Shock 2, and modernise it through the lens of current accessibility, player experience and design standards, whilst retaining the artistic intent of the original SS2 UI.

I wanted to trim the unnecessary, confusing and inaccessible navigation style of the original game to keep it in-line with modern day trends, in order to create a high quality and user-friendly menuing experience that can be utilised by controllers, something the original couldn't do with its dynamic menu panels.

I personally have a love for older games and their modern day remakes, so I wanted to pay homage to a standout tile by giving it a makeover.
